Making your own fancy meal out in the woods or in a park can be a little overwhelming for some so maybe opt to order take out on your trail date. Where to find seclusion?
You will be able to easily find secluded places in State Forests, National Forests, State Parks, National Parks, County Parks etc. Many won’t require reservations because you will only be staying a couple hours, but don’t forget to check beforehand. Most parks will have a great selection of picnic tables and fire pits. Don’t forget to pack a table cloth or buy some firewood.

Nothing Beats a Warm Campfire on a Cold Day
SNACKS, SNACKS, SNACKS
Chocolate makes everything better. We’ve found that chocolate covered pretzels can beat out a gas station Valentines Day chocolate assortment every time. You can show off your inner Pinterest star and make a huge charcuterie board but dont forget that crackers & cheese are always a crowd pleaser too.
ENJOY A DRINK TOGETHER
In many places it is legal to relax with a fire and enjoy a drink together. Always check to make sure you are legal but if everything is good to go make sure to pack a bottle of wine. Don’t forget some fancy wine glasses, it just not quite the same with red solo cups or drinking wine out of a Nalgene bottle... Not your thing? Pack a camp stove and cook up some coffee quick.
Always be responsible and plan ahead, if you plan to spend more than a couple hours out you can always snag a campsite and make a night of it. Pop up your roof top tent and relax together on your own private trail date.
Don’t Forget to Clean Up and Leave the Areas Better than You Found It.
